Baby Showers Bring May Flowers: Blooming Up New Business
It’s time to truly welcome the seasonal change while also celebrating all the happiness that is experienced at your boutique. The old adage, “April showers bring May flowers,” can be used to bring in new business, forge new local relationships, and start an undiscovered trend sure to take the pregnancy world by storm!
Everyone loves a beautiful bouquet of flowers, right? Start researching your local florists now because you want to make sure you love who you partner with!
While you already offer great packages, it can be so much fun adding something new to your business. Creativity keeps families coming back.
4 Ways to Partner with a Florist
A Heartbeat and Handpicked Bouquet
Work with the florist on coming up with a few personalized bouquet options at a certain price point. From there, create a new package (or add-on) for your clients. When they record their baby’s heartbeat into a My Baby’s Heartbeat Bear, they get a coupon for a ‘free’ handpicked bouquet of flowers.
Our Heartbeat Bear can be delivered with Baby’s heartbeat recorded and a bouquet of gorgeous flowers to family members or close friends whom the parents want to surprise with their news! This package requires a bit more work on the florist’s end, but nothing they aren’t used to (a long as they do deliveries). Again, the client chooses their heartbeat animal, records Baby’s heartbeat, handpicks the flowers, and then chooses the date of their arrival.
Gender reveals have become more creative over the last year, but one avenue that hasn’t been discovered is that of floral deliveries. Your clients come in for their gender scan and select the “Special Delivery” reveal package. You record the baby’s heartbeat and seal the gender in an envelope and drop it at the florist’s boutique later that day. A beautiful bouquet is created (pinks and reds, blues and greens, or whites and yellows with our gender reveal cannon tucked inside for an extra fun surprise) and is delivered to their doorstep.
Baby showers are trending again, and while much smaller than before, they are still as extravagant and glamorous as ever. You can work with the florist on creating a party option where you offer a mobile ultrasound and they offer the floral décor for the party. Another option is to offer a discount on multiple bouquets for a party.
A few notes to help you roll this partnership out:
- Make sure you have fresh flowers (from your florist!) around the boutique while you offer this promotion. You want your clients to see just how beautiful the product is.
- Make sure to include the price of the flowers in your package deals with a slight markup for your profit margin. This also allows the florist to make an upsell in person when your clients enter their business to select their flowers. It’s a win-win for each of you!
