    Take Your Ultrasound Business Mobile

    Take Your Ultrasound Business Mobile

Have you heard of the newest version of the long known “Sip and See” baby shower? Traditionally, it is held after a mother has given birth, when friends meet for brunch or lunch and ‘sip’ champagne and ‘see’ the new baby. However, millennials are changing things up by letting friends see their babies while in utero! That’s right, the newest sip and see baby showers include a mobile ultrasound tech and a live gender reveal!

If you don’t offer a mobile ultrasound package yet, you are missing out on this hot new trend. You are also missing out on an easy way to increase revenue.

How to Offer the Best Mobile Ultrasound

You can create mobile packages and provide several time block options to mothers. Typically, there will be two types of mobile ultrasounds that parents will request:

    In-Home Ultrasound

These are quite a bit more personal than an appointment at your office. You arrive and set things up while the parents (and other family members) chat and get excited. There are far less nerves when you are in the mother’s environment.

This is also a great option for mothers who want to share the experience with other children, special needs family members, or older relatives that would not be able to take part in the experience anywhere else.

    Baby Shower Ultrasound

You will want to work with the mom beforehand, of course. She will have an idea of what she is hoping for at her baby shower. You can offer suggestions, of course, but let her guide the experience. Does she want it to be suspenseful? You can build excitement by counting fingers and toes first. You can print several pictures (without the obvious genitals showing) and have guests guess before revealing the gender. They may get a kick out of looking at head shape, etc. You can seal the gender picture in an envelope and hand it off to a grandma to do something special with while you take a few minutes to record the baby’s heartbeat.

After attending just one ultrasound-themed baby shower, you will be hooked. Because of you, everyone gets a little sneak peak of the baby joining the world soon!

Products to Offer and Things to Bring

Business Cards: There will always be at least one guest at the baby shower who wants your information. Your business cards should include your website, social media handles, and a bulleted list of services.

My Baby’s Heartbeat Bears: You can email your clients and have them choose from your Heartbeat Animals or bring a few for them to choose from. Make sure you have extra because grandparents tend to want one, too!

Your Equipment: Invest in a screen large enough for multiple people to view at the same time. You can offer to hook yours up to a TV if they would like an even larger option.

A Travel Table: Don’t show up without knowing where your client will be laying down. A travel table can break down and fit in your car easily, and it gives the mother one less thing to think about.
