The heart-shaped recorder measures 64mm x 56mm. On the back of the recorder: There is a speaker located in one lobe of the heart. In the middle, there is a switch labeled: R (Record): Used when recording a new sound onto the module. P (Playback): Used for listening to the stored recorded sound. Directly under the switch, there is a microphone used for capturing sound during recording. For instructions on how to record a sound, see the 'How do I record a sound?' section. The recorder operates on 3PCS AG13/LR44 batteries.

The recorder can store a recording for up to 20 seconds.

Follow these steps to record a sound: 1. Remove the plastic tab before recording. 2. Turn the switch to the 'R' (Record) position. 3. Squeeze the heart to start recording. 4. Hold the heart within 2-10 cm with the microphone facing the sound source for the best playback. 5. The LED light will remain on while recording.

After recording, follow these steps to play the sound: 1. Flip the switch from 'R' (Record) to 'P' (Playback) position. 2. Squeeze the heart to play back the sound. 3. The LED will flash during playback.

To lock your recording: 1. Make sure the switch is in the 'P' (Playback) position. 2. Squeeze the heart for 5 seconds until you hear a beep. 3. The recording is now locked and cannot be erased or re-recorded until unlocked.

To unlock the recorder: 1. Keep the recorder in the 'P' (Playback) position. 2. Squeeze the heart until you hear two beeps. 3. The recorder is now unlocked and ready for a new recording.
