School’s Out: Summertime Cocktails for Grown-ups

by Elizabeth MacDonald June 12, 2020

The local pools aren't opening (or are on restrictions). The beach is beckoning, but out of reach for so many of us. The new swimsuit is being purchased, maybe - but why? Life has slowed down a bit (understatement of the year). Backpacks have been traded in for bikes and scooters. But the kicker is that parents everywhere are rejoicing that the school year is finally over.

    Cheers to Summer.

There has never been a time when parents have been so ready for summer break. After the craziest end to the 2019-2020 school year, it is time for a cocktail. Who's with me?

Pull out those tailgate chairs and blow-up pools, it's about to be a long summer.

Don’t forget to keep frozen fruit on hand, as a strawberry from the freezer will not only keep your wine cooler longer, but it’ll give it a hint of summer too.

If you want to get fancier than the frozen fruit, freeze high-quality fruit juices (berry flavored, peach, etc) in ice cube trays and toss them in to add a new flavor to your drink – or tone it down if it’s a bit too intense. Even fancier? Stick an upside-down popsicle into the drink.
