Alicia May, Sonographer, Early Gender Specialist, and Owner of Love at First Sight 4D in Ontario explains just how grateful she is to work with pregnant women and families every day:

The Ontario pregnancy culture tends to be a cold and sterile environment. Mothers typically must attend appointments alone, leaving their partners in a waiting room or at home. Not to share such a bonding moment as a family is heartbreaking, and Alicia was determined to give families another option. Investing in the highest quality technology and equipment, she opened her studio doors and welcomed mothers and their guests into her appointments. Alicia gave families the ability to see their babies grow while still in utero.

It didn’t take long for Love at First Sight 4D to attract families from all over the area. The calm, inviting, and celebratory atmosphere combined with the trusting relationships built during each session created the opportunity of expansion. What started as a small dream soon grew to two ultrasound studios with a third opening in London, ON this year.

“I had a large family come into my studio with 4 older siblings anxiously awaiting to find out if they were going to be having a little brother or sister. They were all so excited and interested in the ultrasound. Each one of them got to choose their very own heartbeat animal, and they chose the giraffe, lamb, bunny, and cocoa bear.

After we recorded the heartbeat and put it inside the heartbeat animals, they got to hold them for the rest of the session. The youngest sister said, "I love this mommy; I'm going to keep this forever!" I thought to myself how she was just so sweet and cute! The parents were so happy that the kids could come and be a part of this journey with them.

I think it's so important for kids to bond with their new brother or sister and My Baby's Heartbeat Bears give us that!”
