Easy Holiday Craft Ideas Any Mom Can Pull Off

We’ve scoured the internet, collecting the simplest, but sweetest holiday craft ideas that you can pull off in a moment’s notice. Some may require a trip to the Dollar Store if you are low on supplies, but really comb through those junk drawers – we bet you can find everything at home.

Holiday Craft Ideas Any Mom Can Pull Off

Ornament Ideas:

Ribbon and Stick Tree

(Or it could look something more like this if my kids were involved:)

Clear out the ribbon scraps from the gift wrap drawer. Any color combination will do. In my house, I’ll have a child use all blue, one who’ll want pink, purple, yellow, and fuchsia, and one who will just want to throw sticks, but all will create something to hang on the tree!

Melted Snowman:

I would stick with a clear plastic ball ornament and shredded white paper or glitter. To make it even easier of a craft, I would have the kids scavenge for tiny twigs outside, drop them in with a pair of google eyes and triangle scrap of orange.

Cardboard Cookies:

snow12

You know you have cardboard boxes arriving pretty much daily from wherever you are clicking on to buy those gifts each night. Cut out a few circles and slice the sides a bit. Hand your little ones some thick thread or yarn and have them start winding!

Popsicle Tree:

snow11

This one is right up my “last-minute-I’m-not-lazy” craft alley. Markers, sticker shapes, pom poms, paper, and glue. You can even add a picture to the middle. If it doesn't scream '1990's grandparent gift' then nothing does!

Candy Cane Pipe Cleaners:

I'm not going to lie, this one will require me to buy some red and white beads, but they can be found anywhere right now. This is great for hand-eye coordination and will keep the kids busy for a solid block of time.

Pretty self-explanatory: Thread beads onto pipe cleaner and bend into a candy cane shape. (Monitor young kids to make sure beads aren’t inserted into nose or mouth.)

Decorations

Pine Cone Trees:

We create these every year, simply because pine cones can be found everywhere come late fall. I dry them out in the oven all afternoon before painting them with the kids. I let them go wild with whatever decorations they want. I encourage them to set up a Christmas scene and use their miniature figurines for imaginative play.

Popsicle Stick Reindeer:

Paper Plate Crafts:

Because you have plenty of plates lying around. It’s time to use them.

Snowman:

snow4

Paper plates, construction paper, and a glue stick. This craft would be great for a playdate. Limited mess, cute results.

Reindeer:

snow3

Markers may be cleaner than paint, but the option is yours for this cute little deer. Paper Plate

Christmas Tree:

Bust out the hot glue gun, or the Elmer's glue, and decorate away.

Enjoy every moment of these simple crafts because you will want to pull them out year after year.

Totally recommend 100% great gifts and customer service is amazing. Thank you so much Breann for assisting me! I got my grandmother the angel bear singing happy birthday from her mother who passed away last year. She would always call and sing happy birthday to all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. ALL of them. Never missed one. And this helped her to still have that last year and many years to come.

Where to begin. My son Davin was stillborn last year and I was for fortunate enough to have had his heart beat recorded. I found healing in taking My Heartbeat Bear animals and adding weight to them for other bereaved parents to have something special to hold and cuddle. I’ve since started a non profit called Our Baby’s Legacy for pregnancy and infant loss support, and these weighted animals are a big part of what we do.
The product My Baby Heartbeat Bear makes is really great quality, which is extra important for me considering they may become some parents most cherished possessions after their loss. The animals are super soft and I absolutely love the vintage design where they are floppy and cuddly, and just the perfect size. I also love that there are so many choices, I’m always touched by why one parent chooses one over the other. Seems like a small feature, but to be able to choose a cow because thief nursery was to be barnyard themed, or a bunny bc their baby was born in the spring, is something very special.
I also have found working with the company to be a wonderful experience. Sheldon is who interact with most. When first setting up my account he offered a free sample and has since sent me samples of other items by them. I’ve had to call and add last minute animals to my order or request they be processed ASAP and he and the other staff have always been very accommodating.
I can’t say enough about how easy they make my job. they don’t likely know it but they are making a massively positive impact in the bereavement community with these animals through Our Baby’s Legacy. The animals bring light and comfort into the lives of an otherwise dark and broken place.
