Simplifying Social Media Marketing for Your Boutique
Social media is the backbone to our society – even if you don’t agree with it. Social platforms aren’t going anywhere, and you need to be able to navigate the seas if you want your business to thrive. Instead of panicking, take a deep breath and think about it as a fun journey that will produce an amazing timeline of your boutique!
Social Media Marketing for Your Boutique
Create an Active (Public) Account
The forever changing algorithms that make up each social platform always favor accounts with high volume of posting and interactions. This may seem daunting, but it can be part of the office manager’s duties or something you take on, personally. Make sure you include pictures of your displays, ultrasound rooms, boutique area, gender tally boards, and anything else that makes you smile.
You don’t need to overthink the photography. Focus on one or two items, gift packages, a family celebrating pregnancy, a big sibling holding a Heartbeat Animal, or even a video of your staff unboxing your boutique offerings. No one is expecting professional photos! Add a filter (or don’t – we love keeping it real!) and just start posting!
Keep the words limited, no one likes a wordy post! Include the names of your clients if they approve, or keep them anonymous (always get the okay before sharing their faces), but keep your boutique looking busy.
Post 2-3x/Day
Again, this seems daunting, but you love your business and simply need to pick up your phone and start documenting everything. You can share in the moment or save your media to use over time. No matter what, you need to be posting every day, even weekends. This can be as simple as sharing blog articles and recipe ideas to keep pregnancy cravings at bay or as in-depth as edited video clips with music.
Follow Everyone
From national businesses that share your vision to local businesses that attract your key demographic, you must find and follow them. Begin to share and tag them whenever possible using fun blurbs like, “We love this advice from…” or “Our friends at … did a stellar job, right?” This builds bridges for your business and also helps your posts be viewed by their audience, potentially growing your followers.
Tag Everyone
Any business or client you tag is a potential word-of-media marketing opportunity. You tag, they share; more views means new followers.
Run Giveaways
Giveaways are always fun! You can partner with local businesses to include prenatal massages and pampering items paired with your services and a My Baby’s Heartbeat Bear to bring home. The trick is to blast it all over social media, asking all your friends to share – including other businesses. “Tag a pregnant friend, comment, and share!” is also a great requirement to enter.
