We are seeing more and more babies in helmets these days.  You may notice, stare for a slight moment and then not give it another thought.  But what you don’t know, is that this is occurring in 16% of babies (and 56% of twins) today.  This statistic is staggering, and has grown five-fold in the last 15 years.  What is going on, and why are our children’s heads suffering? Flat Head Syndrome is known as plagiocephaly in the medical community, and it is a cranial malformation.  Like I said, it is becoming more and more common with little to no attention for parents to understand why.

Birthing at home is a gentle, peaceful way to bring your child earthside. There is a calmness about being in your place of comfort. I couldn’t imagine birthing anywhere else. After experiencing 4 homebirths - one of which was too fast to have help, I figured, why save all the information for myself when I can share it with you!

Genetics are amazing. Sometimes there is absolutely no doubt whose bloodline a new addition is related to. Other times, it takes a little digging to find that one relative whom your child truly resembles. Either way, when you compare pictures from the past and present, you end up doing a double take.
