If you have been reading our blog for a while now, then you probably saw this gem that I wrote last year about consuming weed during pregnancy. Were you as blown away as I was, or did you already assume that pot was pretty darn safe?

Baby. Sweet, Sweet Baby, You have only hours left until you turn an entire year old. How has the time gone by so quickly? How have we already had 8,756 hours together? How have the moments and milestones added up to today?

Being three is hard. There are hormones flying, growth spurts happening, attitudes mounting, the cusp of independence brewing, and a whole lot of sass. It’s hard not to lose my mind each day with my three-year-old. He is my third born and somehow the most challenging child I have had. In one breath, he is so loving, and the next? He is a snot. I won’t lie, I have apologized to him for threatening to pull the car over, leave him with a neighbor while the rest of us have fun, and oh so many other emotion-driven-horrible-parenting moments I am not proud of…

Jizo statues can be found primarily throughout Japan, although many other cultures seem to be accepting them into their own traditions. A Buddhist tradition, Jizo is the protector of children. More specifically, Jizo takes care of the souls of unborn children and those who die at a young age.

Hi there! It’s me, your friendly know-it-all mom-friend about to jump up on her soap box (again). Hey, we all have our platforms; I just happen to have a few of them. <Understatement of the year> I want to start this article off with a bit of science. You see, I typically just start ranting passionately about car seat safety, and for most uninformed mothers, that backfires rather quickly. They tend to think I’m just on a high-horse and become utterly defensive, believing me to be judging them. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. Most mothers who have researched about car seat safety will all agree that sharing this information comes from a place of love – a love for their own children, your children, and all children. You see, a simple unknown mistake of improper installation, buckle placement, or premature forward facing of a car seat can end with life-long injury or death to the child.

Let’s Talk Vitamin K and Newborns Vitamin K is necessary for normal blood clotting in adults and children. But newborns are different. They are not born with sufficient amounts of the vitamin. This may make you question the necessity of an injection. If all babies are born with little Vitamin K, it may be because it is what is meant to be. But, understandably, some argue that Vitamin K is needed so it must be administered. Which is right? Is one wrong?

I stumbled upon this article the other day. A friend’s husband actually shared it on social media. This couple (my friend and her husband) just sold their home to spend the next few months traveling the country with their 3 young ones. They’ve been on the road for a few weeks, and I can tell just by their ‘status updates’ how much this trip has bonded them. They are an amazing family and threw caution to the wind just to ensure that they were living life – together. I’m proud of them, happy for them, and slightly jealous (who wouldn’t be!).

Perhaps you read my article about Emmett’s sensory meltdown a few weeks ago. I received an overflowing amount of love and understanding from so many of you, but I also received questions. Many parents wrote asking if their child could have sensory processing disorder, when Emmett was diagnosed, what the symptoms are, and how we are helping – not to forget the other popular question, how I stay sane.
